The seeds of the walnut plant are roundish white soft seeds embedded in thick black covers. they are very common in Africa but are seasonal.
The botanical name is Tetracarpidium Corophorum or Plukenetia Conophora.
The Africal Language names are:
- Ukpa in Ibo
- Okhue/Okwe in Edo
- Asala/awusa in Yoruba
Also, regular eating of spicy hot meals prepared with chili peppers (contains capsaicin) is effective in reducing the incidence and onset of breast cancer in women. A lot of African delicious meals could be prepared with chili peppers. And they are cheap and easily available.
Areas where chili peppers are regularly consumed in Africa are known to exhibit longer life expectancy amongst their womenfolk than the national expectancy. An example are the rural Yoruba dwellers in the south western part of Nigeria in Africa. They have at least 20 years life expectancy more than the national average.
In fact, there is an adage in this part that means "someone that does not eat chili peppers has a short lifespan".
Breast cancer is less prevalent amongst these rural populace.
However, someone that is not used to eating chili pepper should start gradually and get used to it before progressing to spicier meals. The spicier the meal, the more effective the result.
